Look for Team RunFree at the following events!
The Blue Believers race is a very fun one, and we have run it for several years. We love supporting good causes, and this one which helps in the fight against prostrate cancer counts as a very good one. It happens at Principal Park, and it runs the trails along the Des Moines River. A good race, good music, good food - an overall good event !
Race time is at 9 a.m. which is very team friendly. Ballpark parking is easy and friendly Only a couple 5K races remain in our race season, and this is a great one to be a part of !
John's Baby Steps 5K is one we have run for many years in Adel. This race raises funds to help with education and prevention in the area of infant loss. We do love supporting great causes. It is a smallish race that is fun, and it has good access and parking. This will be our final 5K this fall, with just one more remaining in December. The race begins at 8:20 at Kinnick-Feller Park in Adel. They ask participants to be ready by 8:00 for an opening ceremony.
Again this year, we will have 3 teams running the IMT Des Moines half marathon. We pair 2 Navigators per cart, so our 'team' this year will be 9 strong. We looove this race, and IMT specifically, as they have been especially gracious and kind to us. We are extra excited for this race, as it is one of very few races we do annually which goes beyond our typical 5K distances.
Our team loooves running this race every December. Last year was a unique one, and on race day, the brief ice storm kept us away for the first time. We look forward to coming back this year and enjoying another 3.1 miles of fun through the streets of downtown Des Moines in the East Village. Team RunFree has again been selected as a charity option, and for each participant who 'chooses' us, we will receive a $10 donation.
